The Macros

The Herbaland Energy Gel was made to give you a boost of energy, as well as maintain energy levels throughout your race. Each gel is 100 calories, and has 24g of carbs and 16g of sugar. The sugar content is made of 2 different sugars, fructose and glucose, delivering a quick energy boost. Maltodextrin has also been added to support a steady release of energy. Herbaland gels are also caffeine free, relying solely on the carb and sugar content as energy, and preventing stomach and anxiety issues during your race. 

The Flavours

While flavour is not always the most important when it comes to energy gels, it is important for your gut. If you’re running a full marathon you could be eating anywhere between 5-10 energy gels in one race. Consuming a gel over and over again with a flavour that doesn’t agree with you can make you feel nauseous. That’s why we chose two mild flavours, that aren’t sickeningly sweet or too strong. Our lemon lime and unflavoured energy gels are easy on the gut, but still taste great.

The Texture

Unlike a lot of current gels on the market that are too thick, making it hard to consume while you run and leave you feeling like you need water to wash it all down, Herbaland’s Energy Gels are made into the perfect texture, no water needed! They aren’t too liquidy, and aren’t too thick, just right! 

 

The Packaging

We chose a rectangular pouch over a bottle shaped pouched due to the advantage it can give you. With a rectangular pouch you’re able to easily consume your energy gels, without struggle. The rectangular shape also allows for better storage, which is important when you don’t have many pockets or limited bag space while you exercise.
