At Herbaland, we believe that a sustainable world is made through prioritizing our environment and our community, while taking actions that respect the earth's natural process. We are committed to improving the future of the planet and the future of generations to come.
Through our packaging, manufacturing, and other initiatives, we hope to inspire other companies to step up and make their own changes to prioritize sustainability. We will only make a difference if we work together!
Suppliers
Choosing who we partner with needs to align with our sustainability goals. That’s why we partner with suppliers like Cargill and North of 49 Naturals, who prioritize environmentally friendly and fair trade practices. While we continue to explore and expand our sustainable sourcing, our commitment to responsible choices remains at the heart of everything we do.
Sustainable Packaging
Herbaland uses 100% post-consumer recycled (PCR) bottles for all our supplements. PCR bottles are a more sustainable option compared with traditional plastic bottles, as no virgin plastics are created or used in PCR bottles.
From Sustainable to Restorative
Starting in 2022, we have planted over 700,000 trees to help with environmental restoration. We have a long-term goal of planting 2.5 million trees in partnership with veritree. We want to support a restorative economy, not just a sustainable one, and create a healthier planet for generations to come.
Protecting Bears with Raincoast Conservation Foundation
We’ve partnered with Raincoast to support their conservation efforts in the Great Bear Rainforest, and protect bears and other species. Through this partnership, we’re able to better protect biodiversity in BC!
Climate Smart Certified
Working with Radicle over the past 2 years, we’ve been able to decrease our overall carbon emissions by 5%! This year, we’ve set a goal to minimize carbon emissions by focusing on strategies aimed at energy efficiency, recycling, and using alternative fuels in our facilities.
Mobi
Herbaland has partnered with Mobi by Rogers Go to provide brand new e-bikes for the City of Vancouver and promote greener ways of getting around. Transport emissions are the single largest source of greenhouse gas emissions in our region, making e-bikes a more sustainable travel option than cars!
The Great Shoreline Clean Up
To support our local environment and community Herbaland has joined Ocean Wise’s environmental cleanup initiative, The Great Shoreline Cleanup! This initiative provides the opportunity for anyone to take action in their communities wherever water meets land, one bit of trash at a time. The Herbaland team gets involved in local cleanups every few months.
Eco-Forming Technology
At our manufacturing facility in Richmond, BC, we use a unique Eco-Forming technology that replaces traditional starch molds with reusable stainless steel molds. Gummies made through this innovative process create much less waste and prevent cross-contamination.
Ingredients
We strive to provide inclusive products for people with diverse dietary restrictions. We choose high-quality plant-based ingredients from suppliers who align with our values of sustainability and inclusivity, prioritizing certified gluten-free, non-GMO, vegan, and sugar-free options.
