To Canada, With Love

There’s a lot of buzz online and uncertainty circulating in North America right now. Despite this, it’s inspiring to see our community come together to support Canadian brands. As you may know, small choices can lead to big changes, with even the simplest swaps making a huge impact.

Our Story

Founded in 2009 by Aisha and Musharaf at their kitchen table, Herbaland began with a mission to create natural supplements for their family. Fast-forward to 2025, and Herbaland remains family-owned and operated. Today, we are Canada’s leading gummy manufacturer, exporting to over forty countries (and growing!).

Employing over 200 people, all of our products are manufactured right here in Richmond, BC. Even the people writing and publishing this blog post are working in the very same building!

The Herbaland Difference

You may be asking yourself, “How are they different from other gummy vitamin companies?” That’s a totally fair question!

Most of the vitamins and gummies (even other products!) you see, labelled as Made in Canada are often produced in other countries and only packaged here. Unfortunately, due to regulations, these companies can claim their products are Made in Canada with very few consequences.

Why should you support local Canadian businesses and Canadian-made products?

1) Buying Canadian products is much better for our economy 🇨🇦

According to the Canadian Federation of Independent Business, 66 cents of every dollar spent at a small/medium-sized Canadian business stays in the local economy versus the underwhelming 11 cents that stay in Canada’s economy if you spend your money buying imported products.

2) It’s better for our consumers and our communities 🍁

Small to medium-sized Canadian businesses donate 250% more to social and community causes than large and international businesses, which directly helps people in your community who might be struggling with finding adequate food, water, and shelter.

Moreover, showing support for Canadian products and brands can mean that these local businesses will have more potential for growth. Through this process, consumers will be able to enjoy their favourite Canadian brands in new locations, with more product variety.

Conclusion

Last Tuesday, we shared a post, and it was incredible to connect with other local businesses about the potential 25% tax from the U.S.

We’re putting together a list of amazing Canadian brands, and we’d love your input! Drop your 🇨🇦 favourites in the comments below, and we’ll feature them on a special webpage launching this week.

Let’s support one another and shop local! ❤️
